THE "LOCUSTS" OF THE PROPHECY OF JOEL.
CONCERNING THE SYMBOLIC LANGUAGE CONTAINED THEREIN. In relation to the spiritual aspect of those occupying the spiritual "land" of God today, the symbolisms used in the prophecy of Joel and their intended meaning will only be understood when one appreciates that physical terms are used to describe spiritual things. For example: "Grain offering and drink offering have been cut off from the house of Jehovah" really means that spiritual "food" from Jehovah to sustain one's spirit has been cut off from His house. (Joel 1:9). It will also help if one realizes that while Jehovah has poured His Spirit upon His "mighty army" of anointed "locusts" over recent years, He has not as yet poured out His Spirit "on all mankind." (2:11. 2:28,29 NEB). The "locusts" symbolically describe faithful anointed servants of God. During a period of some years they have been spiritually "devouring" the apostate teachings of unfaithful covenant-leavers and unsealed JW 'elders' that are an offence before Jehovah, and have by accurate Spirit knowledge through The Christ responded with bitter denunciations.
