THE TRUE MEANING OF GENESIS 3:15. Jehovah said to satan the "serpent": "I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed." (Gen 3:15). This part of the scripture is not to be understood solely with reference to anointed members of the heavenly "woman" of God, for the enmity between satan's "seed" and the righteous "seed" of the first woman Eve was made manifest when Cain killed Abel. Cain ignored the warning of Jehovah that if a man does not do what is right then "sin is a demon crouching at the door. It shall be eager for you, and you will be mastered by it", and so he killed his brother Abel. (Gen 4:7 NEB). By this evil act Cain proved he was of satan's "seed". Such enmity has existed between members of satan's "seed" and all righteous persons born since Abel, and will continue until satan and his demons are thrown into everlasting torments. (Rev 20:7-10). That is why by inspiration from God the apostle John wrote: "Everyone who has been born from God does not carry on sin, because His [Divine] seed remains in such one, and he cannot practice sin, because he has been born from God. The children of God and the children of the devil are evident by this fact: Everyone who does not carry on righteousness does not originate with God, neither does he who does not love his brother. For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should have love for one another; not like Cain, who originated with the wicked one and slaughtered his brother. And for the sake of what did he slaughter him? Because his own works were wicked, but those of his brother were righteous." (1 John 3:9-12).
JWs erroneously believe that the
enmity is solely between satan and the 144,000 anointed members of
the heavenly "woman" of God. They discount righteous ones not
directly under the "new covenant" for a Kingdom of heavenly
anointed priests by His Christ, and so misinterpret the scripture. (Heb 8:7-10)
(Rev 5:9,10). Anointed members of the heavenly "woman" of God began
to be gathered when the "new covenant" was inaugurated by The
Christ and they became heirs
of the Spirit "seed" of God.
(Eph 1:13,14). But satan has
been at enmity not only with anointed members of the heavenly "woman"
since Christ's death on earth, he has been at enmity with all
righteous persons of the "seed" of God since Abel. (Gal 3:26 Jehovah said to satan the "serpent": "I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head, and you will bruise him in the heel." (Gen 3:15). The "woman" is the heavenly "woman" of 144,000 Spirit anointed members of the "seed" of God. An example of the enmity that exists between satan and the "woman" is described in Revelation: "And the serpent (satan) disgorged water like a river from its mouth after the woman, to cause her to be drowned by the river. But the earth came to the woman's help, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon (satan) disgorged from its mouth." (Rev 12:15,16). So who are the "seed" of the "woman"? In answer to this it says: "And the dragon (satan) grew wrathful at the woman, and went off to wage war with the remaining ones of her seed, who observe the commandments of God and have the work of bearing witness to Jesus." (Rev 12:17). The "seed" of the "woman" are the offspring of faithful anointed sons of God, just as it is written: "O woman afflicted, tempest-tossed, uncomforted… all your sons will be persons taught by Jehovah, and the peace of your sons will be abundant." (From Isaiah 54:11,13).
