QUESTIONS:
(6)

Will Jehovah God stop the fury of lu'cifer* the "shining one" who has become satan?

(7)

Where, and for whom, will the Most High do so?

ANSWER:

Jehovah has sworn that He will tread the "Assyrian" down "on My own mountains; and that his yoke may actually depart from upon them and that his very load may depart from upon their shoulder. This is the counsel that is counselled against all the earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out against all the nations." (From 14:24-27). The Lord of Hosts has sworn, "the Assyrians I crush within My land". (14:25 Moffatt).  "My land" is the spiritual "land" of God's beloved spiritual people.

"So is it My purpose for the world, so I stretched out My arm against all nations. The Eternal's purpose who can disannul? His outstretched arm, who turns it back?" (14:26,27 Moffatt). This oath from Jehovah will soon undergo fulfilment. The "Assyrian", like lu'cifer, are self-exalted warring plunderers among the nations, of whom people will ask: "Is this the man that was agitating the earth", that was "driving others to work", but has now "come to a stop"? (14:4,16). Their evil power and influence is being met by She'ol, together with all "goatlike leaders of the earth" and "all the kings of the nations" who will say: "Have you yourself also been made weak like us?" (14:9,10). But Jehovah will make provision for His beloved spiritual people that they may live in peace and harmony.  (14:1-3).

"You must raise up this proverbial saying against the king of Babylon and say: "How has the one driving [others] to work come to a stop, the oppression come to a stop! Jehovah has broken the rod of the wicked ones, the staff of the ruling ones, the one striking peoples in fury with a stroke incessantly, the one subduing nations in sheer anger with a persecution without restraint. The whole earth has come to rest, has become free of disturbance. People have become cheerful with joyful cries… O how you have fallen from heaven, you shining one,* son of the dawn! How you have been cut down to the earth, you who were disabling the nations! …Those seeing you will gaze even at you; they will give close examination even to you, [saying,] 'Is this the man that was agitating the earth that was making kingdoms rock?'""  (From 14:4-17).

* Or: "you brightness." M, hei.lēl'; LXX, ho he.ōs.pho'ros ("the bringer of dawn [or, of morn]");
  Vg, lu'cifer ("Bearer of light");  Sy, A.i.lel' ("Howl!").  (Footnote of NWT Large Print Edition).
