This poem reveals some examples of unacceptable prayers offered by people who are unreconciled to God. They pray while being aware of their unaltered wicked lives. And since they would not allow the extension of His mercy to them to have its work complete, to extend such mercy to them would merely be sanctioning their continuance in sin! When they are in trouble, faithless people pray to God, regardless of their unreconciled lives. In the erroneous belief that their faithless prayers are offered to God, they are really being offered to satan!

'Father, Bless The SINS We Want To Keep.'

'Father, for years we have disobeyed Your Law.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
Draw a veil over our Godless rebellion.'

'We delight in persecuting Your servants, Father.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
Forgive our premeditated evil ways.'

'We adore celebrities, and admire self-glory.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
While we worship our dungy idols.'

'We admire and support our political leaders.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
Don't mark us down for extermination.'

'We have corrupt laws and we use them to defraud.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
Though we deny justice to the righteous.'

'We ignore calamities You send to teach us better ways.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
Stop demolishing buildings, making the earth shake.'

'We construct unsafe buildings reaching the sky.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
Commercial "Babylon" we must put on high.'

'We oppress the poor, and create the obscenely rich.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
While we enjoy our exalted lives and privilege.'

'We love ear-tickling sermons requiring nothing of us.
But now, please bless us, and be merciful,
We need You to placate our wickedness.'

'Amen.'
