"ARISE, O WOMAN, SHED FORTH LIGHT".
(Isaiah 60:1).

THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD'S JUDGEMENT.

"FOOLS WHO LONG FOR THE DAY OF THE LORD, WHAT WILL THE DAY OF THE LORD MEAN TO YOU?  IT WILL BE DARKNESS, NOT LIGHT.  IT WILL BE AS WHEN A MAN RUNS FROM A LION, AND A BEAR MEETS HIM". (Amos 5:18,19 NEB).

What does this scripture mean?  It certainly does not mean that everyone who longs for the Day of the Lord is therefore deemed a fool because of the events prophesied to unfold in the Day of Jehovah. Its meaning should be understood from the point of view that in the Word of  God justice is symbolized by a lion, and retribution symbolized by a bear. Anyone cunningly attempting to evade justice in the Day of Jehovah will meet up with immediate retribution, causing mourning and wailing. (5:16 NEB). As to those who are not fools, they are the ones who have  had their consciences honed respecting the implementation of the Will of God, and shall experience the joy of true justice in their lives in the Day of Jehovah.

With reference to Israel in the Judgement, Almighty God has decreed: "For I will pass through the midst of you, says the Lord." (5:17 NEB). By inspiration from God, Amos describes what life will be like in the Day of the Lord in each nation. The fools here described are those who have not seriously meditated upon the principles of the Word of God or been spiritually readjusted to live according to His Justice. Instead, they have evaded justice throughout their lives, and so will be continuously pursued by fear and retribution in the Day of Jehovah. Fools living in the State of Israel today are already being chased by bear-like fear and retribution because of their foolishness. It has led to many deaths, some through suicide bombers, for the reasons prophesied through Amos in chapter 5:7-13 (NEB) and according to the principle stated in Ezekiel 9:6.

The Justice of God will not merely be limited to tyrannical rulers of nations and wicked oppressors. All Godless individuals will be severely dealt with; particularly those admiring and worshipping the political "wild beast", the "false prophet", or who are members of the sectarian "harlot". (Rev 19:20 & 18:2-5). No one who rejects and wars against true justice will escape the Spirit of the Lord's Judgement. The spirit of each person will be judged individually and impartially.

Justice is the implementation of what is right. There is no distinction between justice and righteousness. True justice is from the standpoint of God, not through the corrupt administrations of mankind. The principles of justice are described in the Word of God the Holy Bible. Maintaining a good conscience in accordance with the just Will of God is paramount. Anyone who unfairly seeks his own advantage, without due consideration for others, and more importantly, without due consideration for the Spirit requirements of God, will, in the Day of Jehovah, be pursued by the Spirit of the Lord's Judgement and will meet up with the bear-like retribution of God.  (Isaiah 33:10  14).
