THE PROMISE OF GOD UPON INTELLECTUALS, FOOLS, SHAM WORSHIPPERS AND CONTEMPTUOUS UNBELIEVERS.

"Fools who long for the Day of the Lord, what will the Day of the Lord mean to you? It will be darkness, not light. It will be as when a man runs from a lion, and a bear meets him, or turns into a house and leans his hand on the wall, and a snake bites him. The Day of the Lord is indeed darkness, not light, a day of gloom with no dawn.

I hate, I spurn your pilgrim-feasts; I will not delight in your sacred ceremonies. When you present your sacrifices and offerings I will not accept them, nor look on the buffaloes of your shared-offerings. Spare me the sound of your songs; I cannot endure the music of your lutes. Let justice roll on like a river and righteousness like an ever flowing stream. Did you bring me sacrifices and gifts, you people of Israel, those forty years in the wilderness? No! But now you shall take up the shrine of your idol king and the pedestals of your images, which you have made for yourselves, and I will drive you into exile beyond Damascus. So says the Lord; the God of Hosts is His Name." (Amos 5:18-27 NEB).

The world is full of unspiritual fools trying to fulfil their desire for a 'better life' than the one they have. Many claim to worship God, but on occasion resort to lying and cheating their fellow man. They may pray often, but they have no idea what righteousness is. Consequently, lasting peace cannot possibly exist among them. (Jer 6:13 15 NEB).

THE BASIC PRINCIPLE FOR BOTH JEWS AND GENTILES.
The righteous principles of Almighty God do not change, for He is impartial in Judgement. Consequently, for fools who long for the "Day of the Lord" it will be "as when a man runs from a lion, and a bear meets him, or turns into a house and leans his hand on the wall, and a snake bites him." (5:19). During the "Day of the Lord" (the Day of His Rule), fools will no longer be able to rob others of justice with impunity. They will instead be shamed and punished. Even intellectuals, who use specious argument and deception to gain unjust advantage over others, will be humiliated and punished. (Isaiah 13:6-9).

Currently, thousands of apostate 'priests' of sectarian "harlot" religions are being exposed as paedophiles, along with others also acting as 'priests' who shelter them. (Rev 17:3-6). Until now, they have found ways to escape justice. But in the Day of the Lord they cannot escape. When they try to do so, their punishment will become even more severe. As to their so called "sacred ceremonies", these include:

(1)	Sham baptisms (including christenings of ignorant babies) instead of baptismal vows offered up to God according to Godly devotion. (1 Cor 15:29 NEB).
(2)	Christmas a day not instituted by The Christ, but by Godless pagans. (Rev 2:15,16).
(3)	Idolizing and worshipping (dungy) idols of pop music, movies, and sport.
(4)	The public display of reciting prayers and nodding one's head before a temple wall.
(5)	The evil usurpation of the Spirit authority of anointed sons of God. (Dan 11:30-32).
(6)	All other ritualistic ceremonies performed annually, ostensibly in Christ's name.

All these activities stop up the Kingdom of God before men. (Matt 23:13). In the Day of the Lord, those refusing to be spiritually readjusted according to the righteous principles of God will perish. There will, however, be a "great crowd" of worshippers who will come through the "great tribulation" and be saved. (Rev 7:9-17).
