Spiritual "Jacob" today are people of God of like nature to Jacob whom God calls "Israel"     those among both  Jews and Gentiles who have spiritual natures and are the "seed" and "offspring" of "Israel".  (Isaiah 44:1 3 NEB.  Rom 11:25,26).

Jehovah has promised to gather all "sons" and "daughters" of "Israel" by His Word: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. From the sunrising I shall bring your seed, and from the sunset I shall collect you together… from the extremity of the earth, everyone that is called by My Name and that I have created for My own glory".  (From Isaiah 43:5-7).

It should be noted that millions of Jews were gathered and executed by Nazi forces demonstrating the warring disposition of the "Assyrian" during the Second World War. (Isaiah 10:5,6). These Jews were not of the spiritual "land" of God, and so were not protected by Him. Indeed, many of the Jews who survived, and their offspring, still compel Jehovah to serve them by burdening Him with their sins, instead of serving Him through The Christ as beloved members of the "great crowd".  (Isaiah 43:24.  Rom 11:27,28).

NATIONAL GROUPS ARE NOW BEING SACRIFICED?
"And I shall give men in place of you, and national groups in place of your soul." "I will sacrifice (1) lands for you". (Isaiah 43:4 NWT & Moffatt). Unlike the extermination of the Jews between 1939 and 1945, whatever adverse circumstances may prevail at the time when Jehovah gathers His beloved people, He promises to protect them     even to the extent of sacrificing such nations as Egypt, Ethiopia, and surrounding lands as a ransom (2)  for His people.  But how will Almighty God judge between those of "Israel" and the "Assyrian"?

It should be understood that people of a warring disposition are symbolically described as the "Assyrian". (See Isaiah 10:12-19 NEB). Those who through demonic activity attempt to suppress spiritual people of God, or  use oppressive economic measures to try to prevent them from coming together as one nation, thereby demonstrate their worship and/or membership of the Godless political rule of the "wild beast" through demoncracy or dictatorship. (Rev 13:4). Both forms of rule are of satanic design, mobilizing police and military forces to impose their will against God.

But neither of these powers have spirit dispositions capable of establishing unity among nations. They are brittle, like "iron" mixed with "clay". (See Dan 2:39-43 NEB). Consequently, the "trickling streams" of Spirit "waters" to be poured out from Almighty God upon His people will be part of a prophesied "flood" of righteousness which will destroy the "image" of the "wild beast" and its political power.
