SOME THOUGHTS ON WISDOM. When faced with difficult situations, most people seek expedient solutions in the hope that those involved will be willing to accept compromise. But it is far wiser to have in view the righteous requirements of God, with such gains as make for holiness, followed by everlasting spirit life in the paradise of God. (Rom 6:22 NEB). For this to be fulfilled, one's decisions in life must have everlasting Spirit principles in view. Those called upon to make important decisions on behalf of society would have far greater success if the underlying causes of the transgressions in society were exposed to the light of God's Word. Only by taking such factors into account would those qualified make wise decisions and administer true justice, avoiding the pitfalls of ministering with a self-righteous attitude. Experience, knowledge, and a comprehensive understanding of spiritual matters are essential in the advancement of the Will of God, both now and in the age to come. With reference to the perfect Spirit Law of God, there is nothing more important than the creation of one's spirit in accordance with it. (James 1:25). In Wisdom of Solomon it is written: "...youth come quickly to perfection will shame the man grown old in sin. Men will see the wise man's end, without understanding what the Lord had purposed for him and why He took him into safe keeping". (4:16,17 NEB). Godless men do not understand why a wise man would choose to suffer for righteousness' sake. (Matt 5:10). Sadly, although Solomon wrote extensively on the subject of wisdom, toward the end of his life he did not subject himself to the Will of God and so ended up worshipping false gods. (1 Kings 11:1-13). He sinned against God after having acquired knowledge of the many facets of wisdom, and failed to acquire a created spirit. But it was through the young Solomon's request that Almighty God made public a record of wisdom within the reach of human minds. (1 Kings 3:11-14).
Rebellious dispositions deviating
from righteousness are revealed by their deeds. Though their reaction to
being discovered may be an emotional display, the truth cannot be hidden. If we
wish our problems to be solved, we must meditate upon these things. Only when
wickedness is publicly exposed, and the benefits of pursuing righteousness are
truly accepted, will mankind take their first step on the "Way of
Holiness" toward everlasting spirit life. (Isaiah 35:8
