THE TRUE AND PERFECT SACRIFICE.

ON COMPASSION AND BECOMING ACCEPTABLE TO GOD.
Only acts of compassion and mercy that unite us to God are acceptable spirit sacrifices. 'Hence a man consecrated in the Name of God, and vowed to God, is in himself a sacrifice, inasmuch as he 'dies to the world' so that he may 'live for God.'' ('City Of God' by Augustine. Bk.10. Ch.6). (See Rom 6:11). The spirit and the body of The Christ was the true and perfect sacrifice.

'Thus the true sacrifice is offered in every act which is designed to unite us to God in a holy fellowship, every act, that is, which is directed to that final Good which makes possible our true felicity. For that reason even an act of compassion itself is not a sacrifice, if it is not done for the sake of God.' ('City Of God'. Bk.10. Ch.6).  Kindled by emotion, many have shown compassion for others, but sadly, knowing neither the Will of God nor the spirit aspect of the recipients of their compassion, their fervour has actually led them to offend God and His people.

SOME EXAMPLES.
(1)
During this decade, charitable organizations and aid agencies worldwide, supported by sport and pop idols, have received donations of millions of pounds from the so-called charity of millions of people to help the starving poor of Ethiopia and surrounding lands. 'So-called charity', because the suffering of Ethiopians is being brought about by God, who is sacrificing them by the "four families" of destruction because of their perversity, and as a ransom for the spiritual sons of "Jacob".  (Jer 15:2,3.  Isaiah 18:1-7 & 43:1-3).

(2)  There are those who believe they are showing compassion by giving money and support to A.I.D.S. victims (a  disease spread through unnatural and obscene sexual practices) "...males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error… Although these know full well the righteous decree of God, that those practicing such things are deserving of death, they not only keep on doing them but also consent with those practicing them." (From Rom 1:24-31). There are many other acts being demonstrated, ostensibly in the name of compassion, to give support to enemies of God and against anointed covenant members of the incoming Kingdom of God. (Rev 11:1-11). Compassion, charity and sacrifice are words that lose their true meaning in the minds of the Godless.

One's spirit and body must be made subject to the Will of God, not conforming to the will of this passing age, but reformed to walk in a "newness of life", proving for ourselves "the good and acceptable and perfect Will  of  God." (Rom 6:4 & 12:1,2). As to showing compassion, mercy and love to your neighbour "as yourself", one should begin with one's immediate neighbours, (i.e.) family members and then one's fellow citizens. (Luke 10:27). This does not include neighbours that refuse to come to know the Will of God, or are under the censure or condemnation of God. There can be no compassion, mercy, or love in contravention of the Will of God.  Only those accurately instructed know the Will of God.

COMPASSION:

A feeling of sorrow or pity for the suffering of another, usually with a desire to alleviate it.

CHARITY:

Christian love; esp. the Christian love of our fellow man. Love, natural affection; spontaneous goodness. A disposition to judge hopefully of men and their actions and to make allowance for their shortcomings.
