THE MEANING OF THE "OIL" OF MATTHEW 25:1-13.

"The foolish said to the discreet, 'Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are about to go out.' The discreet answered with the words, 'Perhaps there may not be quite enough for us and you. Be on your way, instead, to those who sell it and buy for yourselves.' While they were going off to buy, the bridegroom arrived, and the virgins that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. Afterwards the rest of the virgins also came, saying, 'Sir, sir, open to us!' In answer he said, 'I  tell  you the truth, I do not know you.' Keep on the watch, therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour."  (Matt 25:8-12).

This "oil" symbolizes the heavenly Spirit knowledge and final instructions that prospective members of the heavenly Kingdom of God receive by Holy Spirit.  (1 John 2:27).

Discreet ones were given enough heavenly Spirit knowledge to be able to take with them extra "flasks" of this "oil" to sustain them should the "bridegroom" be "late in coming". (Matt 25:4,5 NEB). But if discreet ones were to spend their spiritual energies and heavenly knowledge instructing foolish ones just before the "bridegroom's" arrival, they too would run out of Spirit "oil". They received this "oil" according to their spiritual obedience; being vigilant, discreet and attentive to previous heavenly Spirit communications.  (Matt 24:45  47).

But while prospective members of the heavenly Kingdom may fall asleep in death because of their long wait for the arrival of the "bridegroom", discreet ones would have sufficient Spirit  knowledge and obedience to be roused and recognized by the "bridegroom" The Christ Michael our Lord at his arrival. Past refusals of foolish ones to partake of the last Spirit communications from our Lord will expose their foolishness. The "Little Scroll" contains the extra "flasks" of "oil" needed to make one's way into the glorious presence of the Lord at his "marriage feast".  (Matt 25:10.  Rev 10:1-11).

As to "foolish" ones who become the "evil slave" of Matthew 24:48-51: Spirit communications from God cannot be bought or sold. Going their own way at a critical moment and turning to those who sell books teaching "lying signs and portents" (for which they will be shamed away from our Lord Michael at his presence) means they will not be spiritually recognizable to him according to the Spirit principles of true faith. (1 John 2:28). They will not be recognized by the "bridegroom" as members of the heavenly "woman" of God, as it is written: "In answer he said, 'I tell you the truth, I do not know you.'"  (Matt 25:12).

What can be said to those who refused to accept the love of the truth and who instead preferred "lying signs and portents" ? (2 Thess 2:9,10).  This: "'Be on your way, instead, to those who sell it and buy for yourselves.'"  (Matt 25:9).
