THE MEANING OF THEY "TRIMMED* THEIR LAMPS".
(Matthew 25:1-13 NEB & NWT).

The expression "trimmed their lamps" means that at the due time to enter the "marriage feast" of the heavenly Kingdom of our Lord the five prudent "virgins" would be found in the right spirit condition for the future Kingdom work to be assigned to them. (25:7 NEB). Their dispositions will have been "trimmed" according to the Lord's spiritual requirements, made manifest by the "oil" of heavenly knowledge and instructions issued to them by Holy Spirit before the delay of his arrival. But while prospective members of the heavenly Kingdom may fall asleep in death because of their long wait for the arrival of the "bridegroom", "discreet" ones would have sufficient Spirit knowledge and obedience to be roused and resurrected by the "bridegroom" The Christ Michael at his arrival.  (25:5 & 10).

Heavenly communications of God are given only to those "virgins" who have not spiritually defiled themselves with sectarian religions and their false teachings. (Rev 14:4,5). His Spirit communications instruct and create in spirit His anointed sons and their watchfulness. The last instructive "oil" given to prudent ones was the extra "flasks of oil". (Matt 25:4 NEB). Foolish "virgins" are those who "beat" their "fellow slaves" during the "eleventh hour" when the "bridegroom" delays his arrival.  (24:48-51.  20:6,7).

It should be noted that at the time for entry into the "marriage feast", half of the "virgins" are refused entry because they rejected the Spirit "oil" when it was issued. Corrective reproofs and denunciations against antichrist behaviour in Christ's congregations cannot be construed as beating one's "fellow slaves", as they are heavenly warnings intended to save foolish ones from further sinning. These denunciations are to reveal the "evil slave" of Matthew 24:48-51.  (See Subject Index: "Evil Slave").

The light needed to spiritually guide one into the "marriage feast" is by means of the symbolic "oil", which includes the contents of the "Little Scroll" and the "rod" of discipline with which our Lord will shepherd all the nations.  (Rev 10:8-11.  2:26,27). Only the "faithful and discreet slave" found giving spiritual "food" to "domestics" of The  Christ when their master arrives shall be appointed by him over all his "belongings".  (24:45-47).

At the arrival of the "bridegroom", when foolish "virgins" are ill-equipped for his inspection, prudent "virgins" who "trimmed their lamps" are ready, spiritually feeding the "domestics" and building up their faith. This is an essential part of 'trimming' one's "lamp". The order in which the "oil" was issued is called the "Little Scroll".  Now is not a time for giving spiritual assistance to foolish "virgins", especially as they "beat" their "fellow slaves" and are about to be given their portion with the hypocrites.

The "bride" who weds the "bridegroom" (The Christ Michael) is made up of 144,000 sealed ones from the earth. (Rev 19:7,8.  7:4-8). The five prudent "virgins" who gain entry into the heavenly "marriage feast" are the last sealed anointed ones resurrected to join their brothers, and as heavenly Kingdom priests begin the administration of the Kingdom of God by His Christ.  (Rev 5:9,10).
