THE  SYMBOLIC  MEANING  OF  EXPIATION
  FOR THE SINS OF "JACOB".
(Isaiah 27:6-13 RSV).

"IN DAYS TO COME JACOB SHALL TAKE ROOT".
"Jacob" represents the spiritual lives of all the beloved people of God remaining on earth, both Gentiles and Jews as yet ungathered, before they begin to "blossom" from the "root" of "Jacob". (27:6 RSV). The important question here is: When and how will Jehovah completely expiate (atone for) the sins of those of "Jacob" remaining on earthI say completely because "this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin".  (27:9 RSV).

"IN THE DAY OF THE EAST WIND".
When the moment arrived for those truly of spiritual "Jacob" to have revealed to them the unusual sign from our Lord of "His fierce blast in the day of the east wind", it meant that sins they had committed since baptism were to  be atoned for (sins committed before are forgiven at baptism). "On that day", when Jehovah shall "beat  out the  grain" (harvests) "from the streams* of the Euphrates" to the "Brook* of Egypt"  (indicating drought*), those of spiritual "Jacob" though "lost in Assyria" and "dispersed in Egypt" will be "gathered one by one" and will worship Jehovah in "Jerusalem". (27:12,13 RSV & NEB). This indicates that all except natural Jews dispersed in "Assyria" and "Egypt" have been gathered to Jehovah. When they are all gathered, these spirit sons of "Jacob" will worship Jehovah in Jerusalem, both Jew and Gentile.  (27:12,13 RSV).

The method Jehovah chose was: "Measure by measure, by exile Thou didst contend with them". (27:8 RSV). Exile: Enforced removal from one's native land, banishment, prolonged voluntary absence from one's native land. In the spiritual context, this means that Jehovah brought about measures that removed people of "Jacob" from their spiritual "land" and placed them in a "wilderness" condition. (See Rev 12:6,14). Here they were spiritually "fed" corrective measures to expiate their guilt and atone for their sins     being spiritually readjusted by the Spirit refinements of the "Little Scroll".  (Rev 10:8-11).

Of the as yet ungathered Jews still dispersed in "Assyria" and "Egypt", they will be gathered "one by one". (27:12,13 RSV). Then "Jacob shall take root" and "Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots" from the "root" of "Jacob". (27:6 RSV). Our taking "root" is a new beginning, to be followed by "shoots" of new spiritual growth. This, after our exile in a "wilderness" condition where we were spiritually cleansed (sanctified) by means of the refinements of the "Little Scroll" for the forgiveness of our sins. "In that day", the "great trumpet" that will be blown to gather those "lost in Assyria" and "dispersed in Egypt" will be the "seventh trumpet" heralding the commencement of the Rule of God.  (Rev 11:15).

When the "fortified city" of unfaithful covenant-leavers and the "disgusting thing" in apostate JW congregations is left "deserted and forsaken" (27:10 RSV), Jehovah will gather those "lost in Assyria" and "dispersed in Egypt" who actually belong to His spiritual "land" of "Jacob" to worship Him in "Jerusalem".  (27:12,13 NEB).

"Boughs" are false prophecies and apostate teachings of unfaithful covenant-leavers that "grow dry" because they fail to come to fruition and are fit only for "burning". To further prove "they are a people without sense", not only do JW women members overlook the "dry" "boughs" of unfulfilled prophecies and apostate teachings published in JW books and magazines, they still permit their offspring ("calves") to "feed" on the remaining "twigs" of these apostate teachings!  (27:10,11 NEB).
