"THE DAY OF HIS BURNING ANGER." (Isaiah 13:13).

"They will turn, each one to his own people; and they will flee, each one to his own land. Every one that is found will be pierced through, and everyone that is caught in the sweep will fall by the sword". These events are the result of the wrath of God, causing even "heaven itself to become agitated" and the earth to "rock out of its place at the fury of Jehovah of armies and at the day of His burning anger." (Isaiah 13:13-15).

What can we learn from this advanced warning? That the reason why so many foreign nationals are kidnapped and/or killed by ruthless terrorists today is that the "day of Jehovah" is imminent. Through such events we can discern what Jehovah will bring to an end: The oppressive exploitation of indigenous populations by powerful foreign nations who are "driving [others] to work" by the "rod of [their] wicked ones, the staff of [their] ruling ones". Jehovah will bring this tyranny to a stop, breaking the satanic "rod" of ruling ones. (14:3-6). As for modern day Babylon, Jehovah will rouse ruthless forces against them that care nothing for the power of their wealthy ones, their wives or their children. (13:16-18 NEB). "So shall Babylon, the splendour of empires, the proud glory of the Chaldeans, fare as Sodom and Gomorrah fared, when God overthrew them." (13:19 Moffatt).

"The Assyrian! He is the rod that I wield in My anger, and the staff of My wrath is in his hand." (10:5 NEB). The "Assyrian" is the symbolic description of cruel ruthless people. The "day of Jehovah" is described as "that cruel day of wrath and fury, to make the land a desolation and exterminate its wicked people" all those involved in the subjugation of foreign nations by oppression and/or armed force. (13:9 NEB).

THE SINNERS OF SECTARIAN "BABYLON". (Isaiah 13:9).
Until now, religions of sectarian "Babylon" have used satan's political system as a vehicle for trade, accumulating wealth from foreign nations. But political leaders of satan the "king of Babylon" are being made weak. (Isaiah 14:9,10 Large Print NWT). The burden of their "yoke" upon people of God "will certainly be wrecked because of the oil." (10:27). Already there have been many disputes over the price of oil, exploration rights, and oil spills. As for "nobles" of Lebanon, many have already been "felled". (10:34 NEB).

"ISRAEL'S LIGHT MUST BECOME A FIRE". WHEN? (10:17).
Instead of giving spiritual enlightenment to the nations, "Israel's Light" will become a Spirit "fire" and The Christ Michael His Holy One a "flame" that shall "burn" under the glory of ruthless "Assyrian" "thorns" and "briars" and consume them. (10:16,17. See NEB).

When denunciations of God upon those responsible for desolating His spiritual "land" have been prophesied, the Spirit "fire" of His Judgement can then begin. (66:15,16 NEB). In the "day of Jehovah", the "rod" of satanic "Assyrian" authority will be broken and the "yoke" of demonic oppression removed from His beloved people. (10:27).

Before the time appointed for "Israel's Light" to become a Spirit "fire" of Judgement, people of God were being gathered to Him by Spirit enlightenment through the "good news" of faith in His Son The Christ. But now that gathering through the "good news" has ceased, those still to be gathered can only become so through Godly fear during the fear inspiring "day of Jehovah". (Rev 10:7. 11:13. Joel 2:31,32).
