ISAIAH 29:1-24 (NWT & NEB).

"Ar'i.el" is the altar hearth of God, the "altar" class of The Christ's Spirit anointed brothers of the house of "Jacob" on earth. (29:1 & 22-24). They are the appointed channel of Spirit communication between Almighty God Jehovah and mankind. Through His Spirit "siegeworks" Jehovah made things tight for "Ar'i.el" to such an extent as to reduce His Spirit instructions through His faithful anointed sons to "a faint low twitter from the dust". (29:4 Moffatt) (See NEB). It means that the opportunity to offer up spirit sacrifices through His "altar" class on the basis of the "good news" of reconciliation by faith has ceased. (Rev 10:7). What remains is the opportunity for mankind to give glory to God as a result of the fear-inspiring calamities being brought about by Him. The Mexico earthquake was one such event, signalling the removal of a tenth of those called to the heavenly City of God but that had acted unfaithfully in His service. In fulfilment of Revelation 11:13, seven thousand men were killed in this spiritual "earthquake". But giving glory to God out of fear is a lesser glorification of His Holy Name than doing so by reason of faith.

At an instant determined by God, those whose hearts are far removed from Him will suddenly awake to the reality of their spirit hunger and thirst. Because they refuse to come to know the Will of God, they have been "waging war" against the Spirit creative process of God for  them,  laying up nothing to their credit with  the  Most  High.  (29:8)  (Matt 24:38,39.  2 Esdras 13:21  24 NEB).  These enemies of God have been "making things tight" for anointed members of His "altar" class on earth.  (29:7).

As to the "punishment" that "shall come from the LORD of Hosts", only anointed servants and spokesmen of the "altar" have experienced this Spirit manifestation of being brought so low that one's words issue from the ground. Only they have experienced the "thunder" and "dreadful din" of a constant loud ringing to signify their  receipt of  heavenly knowledge of imminent calamities from God. (29:4-6 Moffatt).  (For the principle, read:  Jeremiah 19:3,  1 Samuel 3:11  and  2 Kings 21:12 NEB).

As for the "tyrants" that are as "strangers" to His "altar" class, "siegeworks" of God have cut off their access to Spirit communications from His "altar". These ruthless enemies of spiritual Mount Zion shall be destroyed: "And the crowd of those strange to you"  (to "Ar'i.el") will become "just like fine powder, and the crowd of the tyrants just like the chaff that is passing away. And it must occur in an instant, suddenly."  (29:5)  (See NEB).

Paying mere lip service to God, those "waging war" against His anointed "altar" class lost the ability to spiritually understand the true meaning of His Holy Word. They neglected their wicked ways, rejected His Spirit warnings, and instead trusted in the precepts of men.  (29:9-14 NEB).

The following scripture will also be fulfilled: "The time is but short before Lebanon goes back to grassland and the grassland is no better than scrub." On that day when ruthless spirits among the inhabitants of Lebanon are made desolate by God, the spiritually "deaf" and "blind" shall "hear" and "see" (understand) His Spirit instructions and obey them (even those literally deaf and blind). (29:17-19 NEB). "This is no time for Jacob to be shamed, no time for his face to grow pale;  for his descendants will hallow My Name when they see what I have done in their nation…"  (29:22,23 NEB).
