DANIEL 11:45: In its literal fulfilment, satan will plant his "royal pavilions" of authority "between the Mediterranean and the sacred hill so fair" where the first tabernacle to Jehovah was set up, and here satan will come all the way to his end. (Moffatt). In the spiritual fulfilment, those occupying The Christ's congregations in the spiritual "land" of God and have "given [satan] recognition" by putting in place the "disgusting thing that is causing desolation" will also come to their end. (11:31 & 39). (12:1): It will be during this period, when satan and his subjects have begun to come all the way to his (and their) end, that Michael the archangel (The Christ's heavenly name) will stand up (to rule). This means that Christ's invisible Rule over mankind had not yet begun in 1914 CE as erroneously proclaimed by the sect falsely calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses. (Eph 1:9,10). As for the United Nations Organization, they have not caused desolation in the spiritual "land" of God. Michael continues to gather those to be written down in the book of life. 1,335 days minus 1,290 days = 45 days. (12:11,12). This prophesied period of 45 days is a "time of distress" for anointed sons of God. But on remaining faithful until the end of the 1,335 days these "sons of your people" (spiritual "Israel") are written in the book of life. (12:2-4): Those written in the book of life will be spiritually awakened by Jehovah to life for evermore for their faithfulness and loyalty to Him. But those of the "foreign god" will wake to the reproach of eternal abhorrence, having sinned against the Holy Spirit of God by rejecting it in His anointed sons. (11:39). After the "time of the end", those having "insight" from God will enlighten many by His Word and bring them to righteousness. (11:35). During the "time of the end" the "words" of "the book" will no longer be sealed, and true knowledge of God will be revealed. All deceptive teachings of men in their wickedness will be exposed. True teachings of righteousness will shine with clarity forever. (12:5-7): One of the "two others" asks: "How long will it be to the end of the wonderful things?" (their completion). Only Michael (The Christ) could swear by Jehovah in answer, that it would be "three years and half a year". (Moffatt). But what does "dashing of the power of the holy people to pieces" mean? Their power is their holy service among the people by the Spirit of God. The holy power of anointed underpriests to reconcile people to God was "dashed to pieces" during the "three years and half a year". (See Rev 11:2,3). (12:8-13): By saying, "O my Lord, what will be the final part of these things?" Daniel was really asking, "What is to be the last phase before the end?" (Moffatt). "These things" will not come to their finish until the power of the holy people ceases to be dashed to pieces and is restored to spiritual "Israel". Verses 10 to 12 describe that "last phase". Of special interest are the time periods given. After the removal of the "constant feature" and the placing of the "disgusting thing that is causing desolation" have been completed in the congregations, 1,290 days will have elapsed, and one enters a period of special significance. For while the 45 days leading to the end of the 1,335 days is one of great distress for anointed sons of spiritual "Israel" to endure, it is written: "Because you kept the word about my endurance, I will also keep you from the hour of test, which is to come upon the whole inhabited earth, to put a test upon those dwelling on the earth."
