MALACHI. (Cont.)
(Chapter 3. Verses 9&10
cont.)
In
these verses one can appreciate what the "tenth parts" represent.
We no longer live in the "shadow" of the reality (such
as observances of the Mosaic Law),
but in the period of its reality, its fulfilment. Spiritual "food"
from Jehovah, and the true understanding of it, is
conveyed by Holy Spirit. Obviously, His anointed priests
today are not being told to go to some literal place to bring tithes and other
gifts to a storehouse of God to feed and keep the priesthood. His "house"
and His "food" are now spiritual. Therefore, as these "tenth
parts" are spiritual "food" from God
for
His
"storehouse", "contributions" can only be made through Spirit
anointed taught sons of God. Only when these spiritual instructions from Jehovah
are made public and obediently carried out among those representing Him, will He
open the "floodgates" of heavenly blessings until there is no more want. Pages 830 to 835
of the "Little Scroll" are only a fraction of a "tenth part"
"contribution".
(Verses
11&12)
Only
when those acting as priests are made to cease robbing Jehovah in the
"tenth parts"
and in the "contributions" from Christ's anointed brothers will He
rebuke all spirit opposition to those carrying out His spiritual instructions.
Jehovah will terminate this world's systems, replacing them with a "new
earth"
of righteous inhabitants governed by anointed members of a "new
(spirit) heavens" through whom He will
express His Judgement of those who
worked to corrupt His spiritual "land". Hence,
faithful anointed members of the true "vine" in
heaven will bear righteous "fruit" on earth. All
nations will see and declare the spiritual "land" of
"Israel"
a happy nation.
(1 Cor 3:16,17. 2 Cor 6:16).
(Verses
13-18)
Apostates
acting as priests claim there is no value in serving Jehovah, observing
His rules, and behaving with deference. They count the
arrogant happy and allege that evildoers prosper and escape the Judgement of
God. (See NEB). However, a record has been kept before Jehovah of those
still fearing Him and thinking upon His Name. This record excludes apostate
murmurers, and refers to a future time when faithful ones will be remembered as
His special property, and the distinction clearly seen between those serving
Jehovah and those that have not served Him but have merely been self-serving.
(Chapter 4.
Verses 1-3)
The "day" of Jehovah will eliminate all
the arrogant and evildoers by the Spirit of the Lord's Judgement, leaving them
no posterity. (See NEB). But those that fear Him and obey His
instructions will be healed in their righteousness. In that "day"
the righteous will trample the ashes of those judged to death
as wicked ones.
(Verses
4-6)
These last verses are key to the present and future fulfilment of the prophecy
through Malachi. To benefit from them, we must consider the following questions:
(1) |
Why
is Jehovah sending the Spirit of Elijah before His "great and
fear-inspiring day"? |
(2) |
What is the significance of the Law of God
delivered through Moses? |
(3) |
Why must those with the Spirit of Elijah
reconcile fathers to sons and sons to fathers?
|
THE ANSWERS. |
(1) |
The Spirit of Elijah provides advanced
knowledge from God concerning the spirit of uncleanness and apostasy in the
spiritual "land" of God to be
removed by the Spirit of His Judgement. This advanced knowledge is made
manifest through spiritual writings such as these. |
|
(2) |
To remember and obey the rules and
precepts of the Mosaic Law is a spiritual requirement, because it is the
tutor leading us to
The Christ.
(Gal 3:24,25. Matt 5:17). |
|
(3) |
Reconciliation of fathers to sons and
sons to fathers as to the Lord is to forestall the banning of the
earth to destruction by Jehovah. Revelation 2:20-23
describes women who try to teach and mislead Christ's slaves to spiritually
commit "fornication" with "that woman Jezebel"
so that fathers and sons are not reconciled to
each other
as to the Lord.
The offspring of
"that woman Jezebel" today will be killed by the Spirit of the
Lord's Judgement. |
