Their premature utterances, like "early figs",
Before the fruit of Divine knowledge was ripe, (1)
Were like rancid ointments spoiled by flies, (2)
Thwarting proper use at the proper time. (3)

They are satan's men, promoting jealous spirits
to prominence, to multiply worshippers of them.
They "trampled" men of the holy "seed" with lies (4)
and hostility, yet masqueraded as His witnesses.

Among the congregation they claimed their seat (5)
As a god     trying to mislead God's anointed sons. (6)
Proclaimed "the day of Jehovah is here" while (7)
under the "operation of error" allowed by God. (8)

Their presence with "every powerful work and lying
signs and portents" is "for those who are perishing", (9)
for not having a love of the truth and for
choosing unrighteousness. Now they are revealed. (10)

Identified His holiness, but were for "a change", (11)
Preferring vainglory to humility,
Deceiving others with their apostasy.
The "restraint"   anointed sons   they removed. (12)
