SONS.

"Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the time of trouble comes  and the years draw near when you will say, 'I see no purpose in them.'"  (Eccles 12:1 NEB).

CHILDREN.
"Children, be obedient to your parents in union with the Lord, for this is righteous: "Honour your father and your mother";  which is the first command with a promise:  "That it may go well with you and you may endure a long time on the earth.""  (Eph 6:1  3)  (See Exodus 20:12).

"Children, obey your parents in everything, for that is pleasing to God and is the Christian way."  (Col 3:20 NEB).

"Train up a boy according to the way for him;  even when he grows old he will not turn aside from it."  (Prov 22:6).

"Foolishness is tied up with the heart of a boy; the rod of discipline is what will remove it far from him." (Prov 22:15).

YOUNG MEN.
"So flee from the desires incidental to youth, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, along with those who call upon the Lord out of a clean heart."  (2 Tim 2:22).

"Urge the younger men, similarly, to be temperate (sound in mind. NWT) in all things, and set them a good example yourself."  (From Titus 2:6,7 NEB).

"In the same way you younger men must be subordinate to your elders. Indeed, all of you should wrap yourselves in the garment of humility towards each other, because God sets His face against the arrogant but favours the humble."  (1 Peter 5:5 NEB).

"Honour your father and your mother in order that your days may prove long upon the ground that Jehovah your God is giving you."  (Exodus 20:12).

GIVING HONOUR TO GODLY PARENTS.
"Respect for a father atones for sins, and to honour your mother is to lay up a fortune."  (Eccus 3:3 NEB).

"If you support your father it will never be forgotten, but be put to your credit against your sins."  (Eccus 3:14 NEB).

"Never seek honour at the cost of discredit to your father;  how can his discredit bring honour to you?"  (Eccus 3:10 NEB).

"He who talks his father down vexes his mother; he is a son to bring shame and disgrace on them." (Prov 19:26 NEB).

'Those expecting faultlessness from their father, experience disappointments.'  (R. Thomas).

"A stupid man is the bane of his parent, and his father has no joy in a boorish (1) son."  (Prov 17:21 NEB).

"A discerning son observes the Law, but one who keeps riotous company wounds his father."  (Prov 28:7 NEB).

'Parents who wilfully ignore the Word of the Lord, have offspring who wilfully ignore their word in issues that matter.'  (R. Thomas).

"Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old... A  good man's father will rejoice and he who has a wise son will delight in him. Give  your  father and your mother cause for delight, let her who bore you rejoice."  (From Prov 23:22  25 NEB).

TAKING A FATHER'S DISCIPLINE TO HEART.
"Attend, my son, to your father's instruction and do not reject the teaching of your mother. For  they are a garland of grace on your head and a chain of honour round your neck."  (Prov 1:8,9 NEB).

"My son, my law do not forget, and my commandments may your heart observe, because length of days and years of life and peace will be added to you."  (Prov 3:1,2).

"A son is wise where there is a father's discipline, (2) but the ridiculer is one that has not heard rebuke."  (Prov 13:1).

"A wise man sees the reason for his father's correction;  an arrogant man will not listen to rebuke."  (Prov 13:1 NEB).

"Anyone foolish disrespects the discipline of his father, but to take a reproof to heart shows good sense."  (Prov 15:5 NWT & NEB).

"Listen, O sons, to the discipline of a father and pay attention, so as to know understanding."  (Prov 4:1).
