But unbeknown to those congregated alongside Gog, it was the means by which Jehovah God did "certainly turn you around and put hooks in your jaws and bring you forth with all your military force" against His beloved people     for Judgement!  In relation to 'houses' of Gog and all those "congregated alongside" him, the key is what happens after they have willingly participated in an "injurious scheme" to attack servants of God, and how Almighty God will sanctify Himself in Gog. (Ezek 38:10). Their apostasy, now revealed by The Opened "Little Scroll", ⁽⁸⁵⁾ will be judged by the Spirit of the Lord burning within them, "for the purpose that the nations may know Me when I sanctify Myself in you before their eyes, O Gog."  (Ezek 38:16).

As for the police and military forces, they are compelled by the "mark" of the "wild beast" to guard political systems of Gog from demonstrations of public anger and revolt. These "hooks" in their "jaws" are forcing them to face the Judgement of God for having protected enemies of God and participated in "injurious schemes" against God's people.  (Rev 13:16-18.  Ezek 38:4).

Interestingly, the UK emergency number is 999 and looks like "hooks", and when 'turned around' becomes 666 the "number" of the "image of the wild beast". Police and military forces also use "large shield", "buckler" and "helmet" to quell rioters by physical force.  (Ezek 38:4,5).

With reference to the activities of Gog it is written: "And it must occur in that day that things will come up into your heart, and you will certainly think up an injurious scheme; and you must say: "I shall go up against the land of open rural country. I shall come in upon those having no disturbance, dwelling in security, all of them dwelling without wall, and they do not have even bar and doors." (Ezek 38:10,11). Not having "bar and doors" means having no protection against police, military forces and all other agencies of Gog. People of God have suffered various "injurious  schemes", with attacks from the police, employment agencies, relatives, neighbours, housing authorities, employers, apostates and other sham-Christians. ⁽⁸⁶⁾

But with each attack there is greater conflict for Gog's crowd.  For after their attacks, Jehovah sanctifies Himself in Gog, particularly in the locations described: Wars in Iraq/Iran (Persia), famines and plagues in Ethiopia and Sudan, demonstrations among Celtic people (Gomer), etc, etc.
