THE REASONS WHY THE GODLESS The primary reason why the Godless refuse to become followers of The Christ, is that they choose to live according to the spirit of this world, and are fond of their own kind. (John 15:18,19). The world that the apostle John refers to, and what constitutes their own kind, is this world under the evil spirit influence of satan the ruler and authority of this "darkness". (Eph 2:1,2). It comprises Godless relatives, friends and associates that are all satan's subjects. But the Kingdom of The Christ Michael is not of this world. It is a Spirit Kingdom. (John 18:36). The apostle James made this distinction clear when he wrote: "Whoever chooses to be the world's friend makes himself God's enemy." (James 4:4 NEB). Choosing to belong to the world means rejecting the promptings of God and His angels. It is not an instantaneous decision, nor can it be arrived at in ignorance. It is a deliberate choice made over the course of one's life. Those who belong to the world are conscious of their rejection of God, of preferring not to live righteously toward holiness, and of choosing a life of self-will. They refuse to subject themselves to God through the Spirit disciplines of The Word of God. (1 Cor 15:28).
Of true Christians who have made their minds
over to The Christ and begun the transition to holiness, the apostle Paul wrote:
"As dying and yet, look! we live, as disciplined and yet not delivered to
death, as sorrowing but ever rejoicing, as poor but making many rich, as having
nothing and yet possessing all things"
Worldly people allow themselves to be
preoccupied in mind, body and spirit with matters that will never give their
lives true meaning and purpose. They are without a cherished future hope,
because they reject the "Way" through which Almighty God creates
human spirits, and instead engage in activities that pander to self-will. By refusing to turn to God, or learn how to live in accordance with His Will, such
ones live totally worthless lives. Our Lifegiver ignores "goat"
The apostle Peter wrote: "…Your enemy the
devil, like a roaring lion, prowls round looking for someone to devour. Stand up
to him, firm in faith, and remember that your brother Christians are going
through the same kinds of suffering while they are in the world." (1
Peter 5:8,9 NEB). The "brother
Christians" Peter is referring to are The Christ Jesus, his anointed
followers described in the Christian Greek Scriptures, and the remaining
anointed members of the 144,000 In 2 Esdras 7:78-99 an angel of the Lord describes the destiny of mankind. In verses 79 and 80 he says: "But as for those who have rejected the ways of the Most High and despised His Law, and who hate all that fear God, their spirits enter no settled abode, but roam thenceforward in torment, grief, and sorrow." (NEB).
