"NOW,  SAYS  THE  LORD,  I  WILL  RISE  UP."
"WHOLE NATIONS SHALL BE HEAPS OF
WHITE ASH."

Now, says the Lord, I will rise up. Now I will exalt Myself, now lift Myself up. What  you conceive and bring to birth is chaff and stubble; a wind like fire shall devour you. Whole nations shall be heaps of white ash, or like thorns cut down and set on fire. You who dwell far away, hear what I  have done; acknowledge My might, you who are near. In Zion sinners quake with terror, the Godless are seized with trembling and ask, Can any of us live with a devouring fire?  Can any live in endless burning?"  (Isaiah 33:10-14 NEB).

"A WIND LIKE FIRE SHALL DEVOUR YOU."
Only the Spirit of the Lord's Judgement could ever devour whole nations and reduce them to heaps of white ash. This is the meaning of "a wind like fire shall devour you" and "your own spirit, as a fire, will eat you up."  (33:11 NWT).  If what a nation spiritually conceives is worth no more to Almighty God Jehovah than "chaff and stubble", then His judicial decision is that sentence shall be passed on that nation.  Note that the Word of God does not say all nations, but whole nations shall become heaps of white ash. A nation is deemed worthless by Almighty God if  there are no righteous men found among them. This is according to the principle stated in Genesis 18:22-33 in which He has said: "If I shall find in (a city) (ten) righteous men in the midst of the city I will pardon the whole place on their account."  (See Gen 18:26 & 32).

A city or nation that has constituted themselves enemies of Almighty God are also enemies of any righteous man living within it. Just as in the case of Lot, if the number of righteous men in a city (or nation) is less than ten, Jehovah will remove them from that city (or nation) before destroying it. So who are deemed righteous by Almighty God Jehovah?: "The man who lives an upright life and speaks the truth, who scorns to enrich himself by extortion, who snaps his fingers at a bribe, who stops his ears to hear nothing of bloodshed, who closes his eyes to the sight of evil     that is the man who shall dwell on the heights, his refuge a fastness in the cliffs, his bread secure and his water never failing."  (Isaiah 33:15,16 NEB).

WHEN WILL THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD'S JUDGEMENT BE POURED OUT?
It will be when "the valiant cry aloud for help, and those sent to sue for peace weep bitterly!  The highways are deserted, no travellers tread the roads. Covenants are broken, treaties are flouted; man is of no account. The  land is parched and wilting, Lebanon is eaten away and crumbling; Sharon has become a desert, Bashan and Carmel are stripped bare."  (33:7-9 NEB).

When the Spirit of the Lord's Judgement is poured out, those falsely claiming to occupy a place in spiritual "Zion" will be exposed and "quake with terror". Godless ones will be "seized with trembling". They will all know that they cannot survive the endless Spirit of "devouring fire" from God within them.  (33:14 NEB)  (See Page 865A of the "Little Scroll").

After meditating on this page, its associated scriptures, and Page 865A, of the utmost importance now is one's personal relationship with Almighty God Jehovah. That is why the urgency, tone and content of the "Little Scroll" is with reference to the outpouring of the Spirit of the Lord's Judgement from the seventh "bowl" of His wrath.  For then is the commencement of His blessed Kingdom Rule over mankind.  (Rev 16:17  21 NEB).
