PRIDE.

"Pride comes before disaster, and arrogance (a haughty spirit. NWT) before a fall." (Prov 16:18 NEB).

EXHIBITING PRIDE IS TO FORSAKE THE LORD.
"The origin of pride (1) is to forsake the Lord, man's heart revolting against his Maker; as its origin is sin, so persistence in it brings on a deluge of depravity." (From Eccus 10:12,13 NEB).

"Haughty looks and a proud heart these sins mark a wicked man." (Prov 21:4 NEB).
