THE FULFILMENT OF ISAIAH 54:1-17. The "barren woman" (54:1 NEB) is also the "stormed-battered city, distressed and disconsolate" described in Isaiah 54:11 (NEB). They are the members of the spiritual house of God. Jehovah has said: "...as I swore that the waters of Noah's flood should never again pour over the earth, so now I swear to you never again to be angry with you or reproach you." This promise from Jehovah yet to be fulfilled will be a time of vindication and peace unshaken for His beloved people on earth. (54:13 NWT. 54:17 NEB). Jehovah has said: "In sudden anger I hid My face from you for a moment". (54:8 NEB). That "moment" was when faithful anointed members of the heavenly "woman" of God that were usurped and excommunicated by the apostate "man of lawlessness" fled into a spiritual "wilderness" to be spiritually fed by heavenly angels appointed by God. (2 Thess 2:3-12. Rev 12:6). During and following this period the "Little Scroll" of the Revelation to the apostle John for the "time of the end" was written up. (Rev 10:1-11). Then, Jehovah says, "now I swear to you never to be angry with you or reproach you." (54:9 NEB). With reference to faithful servants of God and their spiritual development and growth, it is Jehovah who created "the smith to fan the coals in the furnace and forge weapons each for its purpose". (54:16 NEB). "But now no weapon made to harm you shall prevail, and you shall rebut every charge brought against you. Such is the fortune of the servants of the Lord; their vindication comes from Me. This is the very word of the Lord." (54:17 NEB). Sons of the spiritual house of God "shall enjoy great prosperity; and in triumph shall you be restored." (54:13 NEB). This promise from Jehovah is one of peace and protection, regardless of any calamitous events unfolding worldwide. (54:10 NEB). They will experience a spiritual reversal, for Jehovah will no longer be pouring out a "flood of indignation" upon the spiritual "land" of His people. (54:8 NWT). This means that we will see evidence that the spiritual house of God is being restored! No longer will members of the spiritual house of God be said to be in a "wilderness" condition "deserted and heart-broken". (54:6 NEB).
