Shaped in wood, metal or stone, men attach
Their evil rules to images shaped like demons.
Bolder now, their shape is revealed in human form (1)
Dungy idols deceiving mankind with demonic reasoning.

Ancient Diana, carved in stone with many breasts, (2)
Gave evil suck to many     young and old.
Generations later she materialized again,
Demonically inspiring admirers to glorify her.
Demons draw human spirits away from God,
And in them try to mould their image.

Time and again the Holy Scriptures call attention to the foolishness of relying on idols of wood, stone or metal. Almighty God hates all forms of idolatry, including the worship of human dungy idols by other humans. An example of this are the apostate members of the sect of JWs who are the "disgusting thing... standing in a holy place" and the composite "man of lawlessness".  (Matt 24:15.  2 Thess 2:1-12).  In relation to those who worship human dungy idols, the Judgement principle of God is described in detail in:  Ezekiel 14:2-8.
