FOR 1,260 DAYS SATAN WAS LOOSED TO TEST
MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION OF GOD.

We were warned by our Lord that satan would be sent down to the earth to persecute anointed members of the congregation of God for 1,260 days, and that he would do so in great rage, with all his strength, and aided by his supporters. (Rev 12:12,13 & 11:1-3. Dan 11:30-32). But we did not know at the time why people had changed in their manner toward anointed sons of God, that Revelation 12:12-14 was being fulfilled at that time. If satan had not been hurled down to the earth before the Lord's coming, evidence of his malignity within satan's religious pretenders of the "man of lawlessness" in JW congregations would not have come to light and been seen by faithful members of the congregation of God (the heavenly "woman"). (2 Thess 2:6-12). The endurance and loyalty of these anointed members of the Holy City of God would never have been so clearly proven, or the good use to which the Omnipotent had put satan's wickedness.

It has been proven among God's own people that satan could not lead astray those who belong to God. (2 Tim 2:19 21). Many subtle temptations were tried by self-appointed JW 'elders' surrounding the spiritual camp of God's anointed sons on earth (such as their attempts to persuade anointed ones to become 'ministerial servants' under the authority and appointment of unsealed JW 'elders'). Persecution was notably intense during this first 3½ year period, as many of satan's followers of the "disgusting thing" ("abomination of desolation") did contemptuously stand in a holy place. (Matt 24:15 NWT & NEB. See Page 24/12/87). As to the physical counterpart of satan's scheme, it was clearly demonstrated during the following 3½ year period by followers of the Islamic revolution offering up the pretence of religion in obedience to Ayatollah Khomeini the "contemptible creature" and his subordinates, who through dissimulation and intrigue set themselves up in authority in January 1979. (Dan 11:21-24 NEB).

The congregation of God has always been persecuted by satan through human subjects in whom satan's evil operates. But his full power was revealed against the congregation when he was loosed from all restriction for the appointed 1,260 days. As for the second consecutive 1,260 days (42 months), anointed sons of the "woman" of God were given leave to flee to the "wilderness" condition prepared by God where for 3½ times (years) they were sustained, out of reach of satan. (Rev 12:14). By the end of this second 3½ year period, anointed sons of God were able to clearly identify the "secret power of wickedness" that had been previously hidden from them by religious pretenders. It is not known for how long anointed sons of God could have endured in spirit beyond the 3½ years allowed satan by God, for the human spirit can endure only so much desolating evil activity before becoming overly sad. Anointed ones suffered the evil activities of other houses of Gog, such as the Police, government agencies, and other Godless ones during the second 3½ year period. (See Rev 11:7-10 & 13:4-7).

THE TWO CONSECUTIVE PERIODS OF 3½ YEARS OF REVELATION.
To dispel any confusion that may exist about the two periods of 3½ years: Disciples of satan could not "trample" on anointed sons of the Holy City of God while these members of the City were being spiritually sustained during the second 3½ year period "out of reach of the serpent". (3½ x 2 = the "week of years" of Daniel's prophecy, which ended July 1982). (See Dan 9:27 Moffatt & Page 24/12/87).
