HOW THE LORD WILL DESTROY THE
"MAN OF LAWLESSNESS". (2 Thess 2:1-12).

"And then he will be revealed, that wicked man whom the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of his mouth, and annihilate by the radiance of his coming." (2 Thess 2:8 NEB). By means of the following scriptures let us throw some light upon these two important expressions: "the breath of his mouth" and the "the radiance of his coming."

EVIDENCE OF THE MESSIAH'S COMING: HIS TAUNTING OF THEM
To find out how our Lord the Messiah will bring about the final destruction of the scripturally described and composite "man of lawlessness" by "the breath of his mouth" and by "the radiance of his coming", we have the advanced warning of 2 Esdras 13:2-4 and 25-38 (NEB).

The taunting "voice" of the Messiah, The Christ Michael, corresponds to the "flame" of verse 38. The Christ Michael's taunting by flame is due to mankind's contempt for the Law of God. (See 9:7-12 NEB). But before being destroyed, those who hear his "voice" are taunted by the "flame" for their evil plottings. (13:37,38 NEB). Examples of the "flame" in the UK were the Bradford City stadium fire, the Manchester air crash, the 'Piper Alpha' oil terminal fire, and the King's Cross Underground Station fire. Common to them all was their ferocity, which was described as terrifying: "Wherever he turned his eyes, everything that they fell on was seized with terror; and wherever the sound of his voice reached, all who heard it melted like wax at the touch of fire." (13:3,4 NEB).

MULTITUDES OF PEOPLE AND THEIR DEMONS "JOIN BATTLE".
In 2 Esdras 13:11 it says: "All of them combined into one mass the stream of fire, the breath of flame, and the great storm. It fell on the host advancing to join battle, and burnt up every man of them; suddenly all that enormous multitude had disappeared, leaving nothing but dust and ashes and a reek of smoke. I was dumbfounded at the sight." (NEB).

After witnessing such terrifying events, surviving relatives, friends, the Fire Service, the Police Service, and forensic investigators were all "dumbfounded". But even after these advanced warnings, they are still contemptuous of the Law of God. As an anointed servant and witness for God, I wrote to these Services to explain the cause of these calamities, that: "Wherever he turned his eyes (that came to his attention), everything that they fell on was seized with terror; and wherever the sound of his voice reached (in Judgement), all who heard it melted like wax at the touch of fire." (13:3,4 NEB). But this testimony was treated with contempt. Their spirit rebellion seals their fate.

As to the "radiance" of our Lord Michael's coming, these terrifying warnings are of the "Spirit of his mouth" and the "manifestation of his presence" by which The Christ Michael will finally do away with the apostate "man of lawlessness". (2 Thess 2:3,8). These events will signal his "coming on the clouds of heaven" and the cloudlike heaviness of spirit that will be felt among the nations. (Matt 24:30). The demonic works of the "man of lawlessness" will then be destroyed, leading to the deaths of all apostates worldwide.

It is of great comfort to faithful servants of God that, "the very person from whom the danger will then come (The Christ Michael) will protect in danger those who have works and fidelity laid up to their credit with the Most High. You may be assured that those who survive are more highly blessed than those who die." (13:23,24 NEB).
