That is why it is extremely important to have righteous men living in a community. But why are righteous ones so important?  It is because when they are living in a city, town or village, only they are able to help save others by their spiritual knowledge of God and their examples of faithful obedience to the Will of God.

But how could just ten righteous men prevent destructive forces from God being unleashed upon a city? Because the Judgement principle of God is that a city, town or village could not be induced to pursue righteousness without a minimum number of righteous men living within it to provide a good moral example for others to follow. Without them, God knows that those leading immoral lives would not seek to be saved. But there is hope of salvation if there is found there at least ten righteous men to warn wicked ones of the consequences of their wicked way. (Please read Ezek 3:17-21). However, if ten righteous men cannot be found there, the inhabitants living in defiance of the Will of God are destined to be killed by fire, flood, earthquake, war, and so on.

Almighty God has declared that the time of the end would be marked by manifestations of His power. Through His Son The Christ Michael His power is being made manifest. (For examples of this, click on:  The Tsunami  and  The Lost Outnumber The Saved ).

In the case of Lot and his family, they were less than ten in number, and the degree of evil among the people of Sodom made it impossible for him to advance righteousness. So the angels of God ordered Lot and his family out of Sodom before it was destroyed, while those remaining were abandoned to their fate. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they were practicers of homosexual perversion     just as men and women are today in ever increasing numbers throughout the world.

The sodomites called out to Lot to bring out the two men visiting him so that they could have unnatural intercourse with them. (Gen 19:4,5). But the two men were actually angels of God that blinded them.  (Gen 19:11 & 15).

"THE TIME TO DESTROY THOSE WHO DESTROY THE EARTH".
"We give You thanks, O Lord God, Sovereign over all, who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power into Your hands and entered upon Your reign. The nations raged, * but Your day of retribution has come. Now is the time for the dead to be judged; now is the time for recompense to Your servants the prophets, to Your dedicated people, and all who honour Your Name, both great and small, the time to destroy those who destroy the earth."  (Rev 11:17,18 NEB).

Godless people have been involved in the gradual corruption and ruination of life on earth in many ways. But  at the commencement of the Rule of God, though nations may rage* against His destruction of unrighteous ones, people of God honouring His Name shall be recompensed for their righteous sufferings. The dead will be judged     the living dead and the spirits of the buried dead.
