FAITH.

"My witnesses, says the Lord, are you, My servants, you whom I have chosen to know Me and put your faith in Me and understand that I am He.  Before Me there was no god fashioned nor ever shall be after Me."  (Isaiah 43:10 NEB).

"And what is faith? Faith (1) gives substance (assurance) to our hopes, and makes us certain of  realities we do not see. It is for their faith that the men of old stand on record."  (Heb 11:1,2 NEB & footnote).

"Examine yourselves: are you living the life of faith? Put yourselves to the test. Surely you recognize that Jesus Christ is among you?     unless of course you prove unequal to the test."  (2 Cor 13:5 NEB).

"…do not be conceited or think too highly of yourself; but think your way to a sober estimate based on the measure of faith that God has dealt to each of you."  (From Rom 12:3 NEB).

"Remember those who are taking the lead among you, who have spoken the word of God to you, and as you contemplate how their conduct turns out imitate their faith."  (Heb 13:7).

"For the faith that leads to righteousness is in the heart, and the confession that leads to salvation is upon the lips."  (Rom 10:10 NEB).

"Fight the fine fight of the faith, get a firm hold on the everlasting life for which you were called".  (1 Tim 6:12).

"Therefore, since Jesus was delivered to you as Christ and Lord, live your lives in union with him. Be rooted in him; be built in him; be consolidated in the faith you were taught;  let your hearts overflow with thankfulness."  (Col 2:6,7 NEB).

'There is a faith in God, and a clear perception of His Will and designs, and providence, (2) and glory, which gives to its possessor a confidence and patience and sweet composure, under every varied and troubling aspect of events, such as no man can realize who has not felt its influences in his own heart. There is a communion with God, in which the soul feels the presence of the unseen One, in the profound depths of its being, with a vivid distinctness and a holy reverence, such as no words can describe. There is a state of union with God, I do not say often reached, yet it has been attained in this world, in which all the past and present and future seem reconciled, and eternity is won and enjoyed; and God and man, earth and heaven, with all their mysteries, are apprehended in truth as they lie in the mind of the Infinite.'  (S. D. Robbins).

"I have been (impaled) with Christ: the life I now live is not my life, but the life which Christ lives in me; and my present bodily life is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me."  (Gal 2:20 NEB).

"You are all, in fact, sons of God through your faith in Christ Jesus."  (Gal 3:26).

PROVIDING FOR OUR BROTHERS IN THE FAITH.
"My brothers, what use is it for a man to say he has faith when he does nothing to show it? Can that faith save him? Suppose a brother or a sister is in rags with not enough food for the day, and one of you says, 'Good luck to you, keep yourselves warm, and have plenty to eat', but does nothing to supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So with faith; if it does not lead to action, it is in itself a lifeless thing. But someone may object: 'Here is one who claims to have faith and another who points to his deeds.' To which I reply: 'Prove to me that this faith you speak of is real though not accompanied by deeds, and by my deeds I will prove to you my faith.' You have faith enough to believe that there is one God. Excellent! The devils have faith like that, and it makes them tremble. But can you not see, you quibbler, that faith divorced from deeds is barren?"  (James 2:14-20 NEB).

"As the body is dead when there is no breath left in it, so faith divorced from deeds is lifeless as a corpse."  (James 2:26 NEB).

"Really, then, as long as we have time favourable for it, let us work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to us in the faith."  (Gal 6:10).

"Certainly, if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith."  (1 Tim 5:8).

"For God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life... He that exercises faith in him is not to be judged. He that does not exercise faith has been judged already, because he has not exercised faith in the name of the only begotten Son of God."  (John 3:16 & 18).

EXERCISING FAITH IN THE CHRIST.
"The Father loves the Son and has entrusted him with all authority. He who puts his faith in the Son has hold of eternal life, but he who disobeys the Son shall not see that life;  God's wrath rests upon him."  (John 3:35,36 NEB).

"Jesus said to her: "I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life;  and everyone that is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all."" (John 11:25,26).

"Most truly I say to you, he that exercises faith in me, that one also will do the works that I do; and he will do works greater than these, because I am going my way to the Father."  (John 14:12).

"So come to him, our living Stone... to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands written: 'I lay in Zion a choice corner-stone of great worth. The man who has faith in it will not be put to shame.'  The great worth of which it speaks is for you who have faith."  (From 1 Peter 2:4-7 NEB).

However, "faith is not a possession of all people."  (2 Thess 3:2).

"But we know that no man is ever justified (3) by doing what the Law demands, but only through faith in Christ Jesus; so we too have put our faith in Jesus Christ, in order that we might be justified through this faith, and not through deeds dictated by Law;  for by such deeds, Scripture says, no mortal man shall be justified."  (Gal 2:16 NEB).

DECLARED RIGHTEOUS SOLELY BY FAITH.
"Moreover, that by Law no one is declared righteous with God is evident, because "the righteous one will live by reason of faith.""  (Gal 3:11).

"Consequently the Law has become our tutor leading to Christ, that we might be declared righteous due to faith. But now that the faith has arrived, we are no longer under a tutor."  (Gal 3:24,25).

"Therefore, now that we have been declared righteous as a result of faith, let us enjoy peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have gained our approach by faith into this undeserved kindness in which we now stand…"  (From Rom 5:1,2).

"By this undeserved kindness, indeed, you have been saved through faith; and this not owing to you, it is God's gift."  (Eph 2:8).

"…and you, because you put your faith in God, are under the protection of His power until salvation comes     the salvation which is even now in readiness and will be revealed at the end of time."  (From 1 Peter 1:5 NEB).
