ENCOURAGEMENT.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able  to comfort (1) those in any sort of tribulation through the comfort with which we  ourselves are being comforted by God. For just as the sufferings for the Christ abound in us, so the comfort we get also abounds through the Christ."  (2 Cor 1:3-5).

"For all the ancient scriptures are written for our own instruction, in order that through the encouragement (2) they give us we may maintain our hope with fortitude. And may God, the Source of all fortitude and all encouragement, grant that you may agree with one another after the manner of Christ Jesus, so that with one mind and one voice you may praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."  (Rom 15:4-6 NEB).

"We ought to see how each of us may best arouse others to love and active goodness, not staying away from our meetings, as some do, but rather encouraging one another, all the more because you see the Day drawing near."  (Heb 10:24,25 NEB).

"So, then, let us pursue the things making for peace and the things that are upbuilding to one another."  (Rom 14:19).

"Moreover, may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and gave everlasting comfort and good hope by means of undeserved kindness, comfort your hearts and make you firm in every good deed and word."  (2 Thess 2:16,17).
