THE  "DELUGE"  OR  OVERFLOWING  "FLOOD"  OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.  (Isaiah 10:22,23 NEB & footnote.  Dan 9:26,27).

"And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah will be cut off, with nothing for himself. And the city and the holy place the people of a leader that is coming will bring to their ruin. And the end of it will be by the flood.* And until the end there will be war; what is decided upon is desolations. And he must keep the covenant in force for the many for one week; and at the half of the week he will cause sacrifice and gift offering to cease. "And upon the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, the very thing decided upon will go pouring out also upon the one lying desolate.""  (9:26,27 NWT).

"...finally, after the sixty-two weeks of years, the consecrated priest shall be cut off, leaving no successor; the city and the sanctuary shall be destroyed along with the consecrated priest, and then ruin shall pour in with a flood* of warfare to the very end. For a week of years the main body of the people shall cease to practise their religion; for half of that time sacrifice and offering shall cease, and instead of this there shall be an appalling abomination, till finally the appointed doom falls upon the sacrilegious abomination."  (9:26,27 Mo.)

"And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off, and shall have nothing; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood,* and to the end there shall be war; desolations are decreed. And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall cause sacrifice and offering to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end  is poured out on the desolator."  (9:26,27 RSV).

"At the critical time, after the sixty-two weeks, one who is anointed shall be removed with no one to take his part; and the horde of an invading prince shall work havoc on city and sanctuary. The end of it shall be a deluge,* inevitable war with all its horrors. He shall make a firm league with the mighty for one week; and, the week half spent, he shall put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And in the train of these abominations shall come an author + of desolation; then, in the end, what has been decreed concerning the desolation will be poured out."  (9:26,27 NEB).

"The instrument of final destruction, justice in full flood" of Isaiah 10:22,23 NEB* correctly describes the means of bringing to an end the sacrilegious abomination of profanations against the Spirit of God in the spiritual "land" of His beloved people on earth.

In recent years, the apostate sect falsely calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses has been publicly revealed as the mysterious "man of lawlessness" or "disgusting thing".  (2 Thess 2:1-12.  Matt 24:15). Its members even "trampled" upon the authority of faithful anointed sons of God during the 2,300 evenings and mornings of Daniel 8:13,14. But these sons had been given over for an appointed purpose. Knowledge of this was not revealed to His faithful anointed sons and sanctuary class until after the "man of lawlessness" had shifted congregational responsibilities from them and removed them. But by removing them, this composite "man of lawlessness" thereby removed the "constant feature" Holy Spirit. (Dan 8:13,14). In this, the translations of Daniel 9:26,27 complement each other.

But what has been appointed to be "poured out" upon this invading horde # of desolators and their "invading prince" (satan) who worked "havoc on city and sanctuary"? A deluge of Spirit denunciations from Almighty God which shall cause in them "wasting with sickness, yet overflowing with righteousness". It shall be poured out upon all those who subjected themselves to the demonic influence of satan while among people of God.  (Isaiah 10:16 NEB.  10:22,23 NEB footnote). Now that the "mighty nation" of anointed "locusts" of God has devoured and stripped bare their # apostate teachings and fruitage (Joel 1:6,7), the "wasting disease" upon the invading horde # and their divinations ("lying signs and portents": 2 Thess 2:9) will bring about their appointed doom:  Extermination. This is what is now being declared to peoples, nations, tongues, and many kings. (Rev 10:11). "Your people, Israel, may be many as the sands of the sea, but only a remnant shall turn again, the instrument of final destruction, justice in full flood;* for the Lord, the Lord of Hosts, will bring final destruction upon all the earth."  (Isaiah 10:22,23 NEB).
