THE ARCHAIC LANGUAGE USED IN THE
KING
  JAMES  VERSION  OF  THE  BIBLE.

Do avid readers of the King James Version think that it is more exact, or that by reading only this Bible they will be made more holy? Well here is a list of just some of the inappropriate words used in this translation     words which can only hinder those of us who speak in modern English. We certainly do not use the following words found in the King James Version (1611) of the Bible:

Remaineth/ fasteth/ covereth/ doeth/ seeth/ delighteth/ regardeth/ appeareth/ bringeth/ taketh/ cometh/ showeth/ becometh/ taketh/ causeth/ commiteth/ asketh/ knoweth/ feedeth/ heareth/ eateth/ runneth/ putteth/ meaneth/ receiveth/ loveth/ endureth/ seeketh/ presseth/ lendeth/ upholdeth/ considereth/ maketh/ looketh/ gathereth/ trusteth/ faileth/ shaketh/ discovereth/ sitteth/ thundereth/ restoreth/ prepareth/ uttereth/ girdeth/ trieth/ rejoiceth/ ceaseth/ puffeth/ hateth/ walketh/ honoureth/ travaileth/ passeth/ remembereth/ abhorreth/ dwelleth/ boasteth/ hideth/ executeth/ draweth/ humbleth/ croucheth/ belongeth/ layeth/ moveth/ trusteth/ abideth/ smelleth/ kindleth/ pieceth/ mocketh/ turneth/ swalloweth/ paweth/ lifteth/ searcheth/ leaveth/ drinketh/ contendeth/ lieth/ trusteth/ hasteth/ provideth/ groweth/ scattereth/ seeth/ hideth/ shouldest/ becamest/ foresakest/ speakest/ savest/ madest/ standest/ beholdest/ walkest/ mayest/ gavest/ scornest/ owest/ thou/ art/ hath/ ye/ shalt/ thine/ thee/ withsoever/ hast/ wherewith/ yea/ thy/ saith/ delightsome/ divorcement/ canst/ thyself/ withersoever/ hereof/ disquiteness/ dost/ witholden/ thyself/ wilt/ spake/ thereof.

There are many more archaic words in the KJV, but collating this list has made me mentally exhausted. I cannot understand the reason for, and the meanings of, all the suffixes contained therein.

True Christians search for the spiritual truths contained in our Lord's Word, and do not wish to be hampered with the deciphering of archaic language. Using such language only impedes one's efforts when trying to understand and enjoy the deeper spiritual meanings of the Holy Word of God. We prefer to acquire spiritual knowledge from God through a language we can understand.

What led me to write this, was when I recalled being told by a fool running a sham Christian Internet Forum that if I continued to teach from any other Bible translation other than the King James Version, my forum entries would be deleted. What a huge loss!
