CONCERNING THE FINAL PART OF THE
DENUNCIATION, WHEN
CHRIST
WAS
DEPRIVED OF THE "DAILY SACRIFICE".
"It even magnified itself to match the
Prince of the
starry host, and deprived him of the daily sacrifice, demolishing the
place of his sanctuary. Thus was the daily sacrifice profanely treated, the true
religion was beaten down, and the horn prospered in its career."
(Dan 8:11,12 Moffatt).
"And all the way to the Prince of the army it put on
great airs, and from him the constant
feature was taken away, and the established place
of his sanctuary was thrown down. And an army itself was gradually given over,
together with the constant feature, because of transgression; and it kept
throwing truth to the earth, and it
acted and had success."
(Dan 8:11,12 NWT).
Who was it that "deprived him of the daily sacrifice"
(Moffatt) the "established place of his sanctuary"? (NWT). And
what does it mean? Verse 9 of chapter 8
provides the answer. It was a "small horn" which
"kept getting very much greater toward
the south"
(among demoncracies) (NWT). Or as
Moffatt's translation says: "a small horn which grew to a great size in
the direction of the south, the east, and the fair land of Palestine."
In the spiritual sense, this "small horn"
is the satanically employed "man of lawlessness"
that put on "great airs" in Christ's
congregations during the "appointed times" and removed from
mankind the opportunity at that time to offer themselves
in service to God to be sanctified for everlasting spirit
life. (Dan 8:13,14) (2 Thess 2:1 12).
"SMALL HORN"?
'...the wicked were symbolized by horns, and their achieving of conquests was
likened to pushing with the horns.' ('Aid to Bible Understanding.'
Pg.791). After this "horn"
removed the "constant feature" of anointed sons of God from JW congregations,
it stood in their holy place. (Dan 8:9-12).
THE SOUTH?
Symbolically, these are governments ruling by the will of the people
and not by the Will of God. The "king of the south" includes
people of the East, even the "fair land of Palestine." (Dan 8:9
Moffatt). The "king of the north"
rules by force with the will of dictatorship and war according to the operation
of satan. (Dan 11:40). Further, as some northern countries are demoncratically
governed, the "king of the north"
has a symbolic meaning, and does not
necessarily mean a literal northern
location on earth. (See Page 840).
DEPRIVED OF THE "DAILY SACRIFICE"?
"The Prince of the starry host" was deprived of the
"daily sacrifice"
for 2,300 evenings and mornings (6 years 4 months 20 days.
2,300 divided by a Jewish year of 360 days). It
was a period when the "transgression" against
the "constant feature" of Holy Spirit among faithful anointed sons
of God took place. When the "constant feature" of His
anointed "sanctuary" class were removed
(through whom people are subjected to God)
it was no longer possible for Gentiles to offer themselves in service to Jehovah
at that time, so their baptisms are
worthless. The "disgusting thing" "standing in a holy place"
deprived "the Prince
of the starry host" The Christ Michael of the established
place of his "sanctuary" class on earth and so
caused desolation. (Matt 24:15) (Dan 11:30,31). This means that those of
the "disgusting thing"
acting as priests, and their
converts, are unacceptable "offerings" and an offence
before God.

according to heavenly knowledge and Spirit disciplines according to the "Way"

And by such evil activities have
successfully desolated themselves by favouring
specious promises and allowed themselves to be led into apostasy by satan?
Who is this
"small horn"? They are the sect falsely calling
themselves Jehovah's Witnesses! (Dan 11:31,32) (See 1975 JW Yearbook.
